This part of the Eleonora's falcon Website aims to facilitate Action A2 of the F. eleonorae LIFE Project, namely «Establishment of a clearing-house mechanism for the species». Through this action the project intends to develop on an international scale the necessary human and technological network and to promote efficient and effective exchange of information and knowledge for the species.
This part of the website has been designed to be used by all members of the F. eleonorae Network (FEN). The FEN comprises of individuals who are working currently or have worked in the past for the conservation of the Eleonora's falcon (Falco eleonorae) and who through their experience and interest can contribute to the conservation of the species. Such involvement could be fieldwork or research, policy work, administration or conservation work, etc.
The role of FEN is to provide support for the F. eleonorae LIFE Project and more specifically
- to provide the means for credible and rapid input on issues concerning the conservation of the species internationally,
- to provide and disseminate up-to-date information and knowledge on the species between individuals with interest in the species
- to provide sound scientific support and advise
- to provide the opportunity for positive and productive discussion on specific and structured subjects
- to identify those individuals most appropriate for advise on specific issues
- to provide consultation in incidents of emergency for the species
- to make old and new references available
- to provide a website in which updated census information can be accessed
- to access different methodologies used and fieldwork datasheets
FEN should not become the site for bilateral disputes and disagreements, as this will immediately remove its potential benefits for the species conservation. HOS will be the moderator of FEN and through this will reserve the right to end unproductive disputes.
The views or decisions of participants of FEN are not binding and HOS reserves the right to decide its course of action according to the best interest for the species and the implementation of the Project.
